As of March 19th Governor Holcomb closed all schools until May 1st and there will be no state standardized testing this year of any type. This cancellation does not include AP tests, as those are run through the College Board.  There are several issues yet to be resolved, and many of those are being worked on at the local, state, and national level. What does the extended closure look like for a Lewis Cass student. ELearning is a challenge for just one day, let alone for several days.  While lengthy periods of eLearning is not optimal for our student population, it is the best alternative in our current situation. Once spring break is over we are creating a different look for eLearning which should be more educational and easier for most of our student population. Please see our website: www.lewiscass.net for Frequently Asked Questions. We will also continue to deliver eLearning packets to our students who do not have internet.

Next, many of  our students depend on our food services program. We have developed a solution to help sustain students during our closure. We will be offering breakfast and lunch to our students. On Tuesday March 24th and March 31st only, students/parents may come to Door 17 ( www.lewiscass.netat the high school from 10:00am to 12:00pm and from 4:00pm to 6:00pm . You will be allowed to pickup five breakfasts and five lunches. This is available on a first come first serve basis.  Also, the school board and myself understand this is a difficult time mentally and financially for our employees. We are working on a course of action to help relieve that burden. A notification will be sent to the staff late next week on a final decision. Please continue to practice social distancing and washing your hands. As always, thank you for working with us through his difficult time. Enjoy your weekend
