The 6th grade STEM teaching team incorporates STEM by including projects, activities, speakers, field trips, etc. This year’s focus for the 6th grade STEM program was established using the Global Goals initiative (https://www.globalgoals.org).  This initiative focuses on 17 sustainable development goals that will work to create a better world, one community at a time. The overall program goal is to encourage students to discover and implement ideas to meet global goals for a more sustainable community. Each grade level then selected one or two goals to incorporate into STEM education. The 6th grade selected goal #3 – ‘Good Health and Well-Being.’ Their driving question/goal for the year asks the question:

“How to build health and well-being within our Lewis Cass community through extra curricular activities?”
