This year’s focus for the 7th grade STEM program was established using the Global Goals initiative (https://www.globalgoals.org).  This initiative focuses on 17 sustainable development goals that will work to create a better world, one community at a time. The overall program goal is to encourage students to discover and implement ideas to meet global goals for a more sustainable community. Each grade level then selected one or two goals to incorporate into STEM education. The 7th grade selected goal #11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities. This selected goal will be the common theme all year where a variety of resources will be used to educate students about related health topics. Projects and activities will be organized for student participation. Their driving question/goal for the year asks the question:

“How can we make our community healthier in a sustainable way?”
